Luther Bradley - 2008

A big THANK YOU goes to Luther Bradley, retired Detroit Lions players, for coming out and speaking to our Lakeland Broncos football teams. Bradley was the Lions’ first-round draft pick, 11th overall selection, in the 1978 NFL Draft after a standout career at Notre Dame. The 6-2, 200-pound cornerback was a consensus All-American on the Fighting Irish’s national championship team in 1977. He concluded his college career with several Notre Dame records: career interceptions (17) and return yardage (218); longest interception return for a touchdown (99 yards vs. Purdue in 1975); most return yards in a game (103 vs. Purdue in 1975); and most consecutive games played (46). Bradley made the All-Rookie team in 1978 when he had three pass interceptions for the Lions including a 76-yard TD return against the Vikings. He started all 16 games his first two seasons with Detroit before knee injuries took their toll the final two seasons of his four-year NFL career (1978-81).

The Golf Outing was great fun and the weather was beautiful. A very special Thank You goes out to Mike and Kristi McDougall for all your hard work putting that together. Thank you also to Lori Langmeyer, Maureen Wagner, Patti Osborne, Brigid McDougall, Kelly Lang and Amy Glinski for volunteering your time to help get the golfers organized in the morning, hydrated in the afternoon and full of prizes in the evening. A special Thank you to the Bronco Boys who helped get the golfers clubs to their carts McCaully McDougall, Madden McDougall, Jake Rew, Dylan Kutzleb, Michael Kutzleb and Andy Bovay. If you were not able to attend please come out and join us next year.
